Marc Hannah

Contributions to Computer Science: In 1982, Hannah co-founded Silicon Graphics Inc. and developed software like Personal IRIS. He enhanced a colleague's chip, making it faster and more affordable, leading to its use in major projects like Star Wars and Jurassic Park. Later, Marc designed a smaller graphics chip for the Nintendo Switch, keeping its price at $250.
Marc Hannah graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. A year later, he completed his master's degree at Stanford University, and in 1985, he earned his Ph.D.
